Our Journey

Alhamdu Lillah the HSBT has grown leaps and bounds. In reflection to what we were back in 1983, a small centre and team rich with hope and drive and now the global phenomenon we have become today with over 100 branches across the globe. For this, we can only thank Allah (swt) and especially yourself who as part of the generous community have supported us every step of the way. May Allah (swt) forever reward each and every single one of you in abundance.

The Journey So Far

Starting as a small Dawah (spreading the invitation to Islam) team, at the Darbar Sharif of Hazrat Sultan Bahu (RA) in Jhang, Pakistan, two dedicated brothers Sheikh Sultan Fiaz ul Hassan and Sheikh Sultan Niaz ul Hassan Sarwari Qadri feel the need to make an active effort in preserving and understanding the message of God as conveyed by the beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw). The blessed idea and plan is initiated.

A small house is acquired in Blackburn to gather and remember Allah (swt). The Hazrat Sultan Bahu Trust is launched.

HSBT Birmingham was founded. The mission is set. Achieve success through the spreading of Islamic education within the Muslim community and support the needy. HSBT Birmingham is named the official headquarters. This is also our first and major International Office and educational center where we launched the Alim course.

HSBT starts to expand with branches in Bradford and ideas of centres throughout the UK in the pipeline.

HBST launches the Hifz (memorisation of the entire Islamic holy book, the Qur’an) programme at the Birmingham branch.

THE FIRST HAAFIZ (memorizer of the whole Qur’an) GRADAUTES AT HSBT. Hafiz Shauket Fazil. One of the greatest fruits of our efforts. What a moment!

We now have established 10 branches. The HSBT movement is now recognised worldwide!

HSBT initiates on of its largest projects. Our free of charge Mirpur Centre (a 4.25 acre shoe factory ) which was converted into a purpose built Mosque and Educational Centre for girls. This was later expanded to accommodate for boys. The centre now runs Hifz, Alim courses as well academic studies and university courses with boarding facilities. HSBT Mirpur caters for all its students needs without a single fee charged. All expenses are funded by HSBT.

As-Sirat is launched. A three-dimensional Dawah project, which aims to educate, revive and inspire. This is achieved through educational seminars, publications and spiritual retreats. Now As-Siraat is running programmes throughout the UK with a much high success rate.

Takbeer TV is launched. Our first dedicated TV channel. A platform for ingenious and practical television complementing the definition of good programming, talk shows, current affairs, business and legal, Islamic programmes, educational programmes specifically targeted for children and youth, programmes for women and even entertainment within the acceptable norms of Islamic values. A platform to create and globalize the leaders of tomorrow.

The Birmingham Qur’an Academy is launched with our first Hafiz (Hafiz Shauket Fazil) in charge. Now BQA is the UK’s leading academy specializing in the art of Qur’anic recitation with over 700 students spaced over two buildings. BQA has already produced any Huffaaz within its system and British Qari’s (specialists in Qur’anic recitation) are soon to graduate Inshaa Allah (God willing)

Watch this space! With the will of Allah (swt) the sky is the limit and the mission is the same. Get involved and support the HSBT movement.
