Mental Health Workshops

We want to allow all community members, women in particular, to feel a sense of fulfilment, achievement, belonging, and boost self-esteem and self-reliance, qualities we hope to inculcate in the communities we serve.

We recognise that you don’t always know what a person is going through, the experiences they hold within them, the trauma and difficult stories and events they may carry throughout their lives.

We will be hosting regular workshops, webinars, and group circles about mental health and wellbeing, introducing healthy approaches to all aspects of life including relationships, food, and exercise. We will also host women-specific workshops exploring reproductive rights, sexual health, maternal health, benefits of breastfeeding, and safe contraception to ensure women’s holistic needs are understood and met. We will be selecting topics each month to support women with their most urgent and pressing needs, and addressing the issues they care about most in consultation with the women in our community.

We are keen to host mental health workshops for women and young people, which also correspond to activities to support physical health and wellbeing. Feeling rooted in one’s body can allow individuals to feel centred and in control, and holds many positive psychological properties in reducing stress, especially in relation to victims of trauma, abuse and violence. Increasingly, approaches such as somatic healing, which place emphasis on the body are being adopted to treat trauma and distress. We are keen to introduce new activities catering to women and girls to uplift them and support their wellbeing by activating their sense of power and control within their bodies, building their physical and mental resilience.
